On May 15, Zhang Huiyang, head of Xiangzhou district, led a focused study on the photonics industry. This initiative aims to boost high-quality growth in the sector and support the "Billion-Dollar Sanxi" goal.

Zhang visited Guangdong OSNAV Industry company and an optical instrument manufacturing company. He explored their technical strengths, market prospects, and challenges and encouraged these companies to make use of  their advantages to increase their market share and contribute to the district's industry growth.

Later, Zhang hosted a meeting with key photonics companies. Discussions covered operations, market expansion, talent recruitment, and financing. Company leaders shared achievements and challenges, proposing solutions in policy support and talent acquisition to aid industry development.

Zhang thanked the companies for their commitment to Xiangzhou and outlined specific goals for industry growth. He emphasized creating a detailed industry chain map to reduce costs and improve quality. He also added that the focus should be on supporting small and medium enterprises, fostering leading companies with strong competitiveness, and organizing joint efforts in investment and market activities.
